He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Berchman and Amy Mae Daigle Richard; his wife Venola Teresa Richard; and his sister Ramona Richard. He is survived by: his son James Richard (Connie) of Burnsville; his grandchildren, James Richard, Jr., Christopher Richard of Burnsville and Christine Menard (Josh) of Spruce Pine; and his great grandchildren, Selena Mae Richard, Alexander Miller, Joshua Menard, Jr., Jaydon Menard, Jonathon Menard, Jordon Menard, Nataleigh Menard and Gabriella Menard.
