He was predeceased by: his parents, Crawford Ayers and Lou Mae Bailey Ayers; his significant other Thelma Lee Edwards Ayers; his siblings, Marie Ayers Laws, Tilda Ayers Bennett, Mary Lee Ayers Masters, Vernal Ayers, Hobert Ayers, Ott Ayers, Tom Ayers, Jack Ayers, Jerry Ayers and Boyd Ayers; and his great grandchild Micaiah Ledford.
He is survived by: his sister Betty Lou Stump; his children, Richard Ayers (Venita), Wayne Ayers (Cricket), Carolyn Wallace (Keith) and Amie Ledford (Bill); his grandchildren, Kayla Pate (Joe), Keith Ayers, Dillon Ayers, Issac Ayers (Maggie), Jeremiah Ayers (Katlyn), Vanessa McIntosh (Jeremy), Shane Wallace (Michaela), Lily Schell (Harley) and Grace Gwyn (Tylor); his great grandchildren, Remington, Makenlie, Ellie Pate, Keaton, Kyla Ayers, Taylor, Waylon Thomas, Kaydee, Shayleigh, Landon, Landri McIntosh, Braydon, Chloee Wallace, Mia Ledford, Tanner Fields, Cooper, Colton, Cayson Schell, Everlee and Madilyn Gwyn; and his grandsons, Joey, Dillion, Dakota, J. Ledford, Tanner Fields and Remington Pate.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Yancey Funeral Services (378 Charlie Brown Rd, Burnsville, NC 28714). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Will Hughes Cemetery (600 State Rd 1318, Green Mountain, NC 28740).
