She was predeceased by: her parents, Jay Briggs and Mary Cooper Briggs; her husband Joe Peterson; her son Ira Joel Peterson; her siblings, Lee Briggs and Beulah Thomas; and her son-in-law David Renfro.
She is survived by: her daughter Jill Renfro of Green Mountain; her grandsons, Joseph Renfro (Maggie) of Green Mountain and Jason Renfro (Whitney) of Micaville; her great grandchildren, Rose Renfro and Ava Renfro; her siblings, Frank Briggs (Betty) of Green Mountain, Ruby Peterson of Spruce Pine, Pat Baccoli of Weaverville and Kathy Kimery (Gary) of Limestone, Tennessee; and her pets, Bella and Phoebe. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
