He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma Mollett Dellinger and Charles David Dellinger of Burnsville; his brother Clyde David Dellinger; his half-brother Lloyd D. Dillinger (Royce Dillinger); his niece Maria Dellinger Adams; his brother-in-law Kenneth Morrow; and his great-grandparent Logan Henry Dellinger.
He is survived by: his sister Donna Fortner Morrow; his wife Elaine McAlister Dellinger; his children, Eric L. Dellinger (Dee), Mark A. Dellinger and Teri L. Newhouse (William III); the mother of his children Ellen Arvai; his grandchildren, Emily Newhouse, Trent H. Dellinger (Amanda), Ethan T. Dellinger (Dallas), William Newhouse IV (Taylor) and Matthew Newhouse (Megan); his great grandchildren, Adalyn Rose Dellinger, Austin Dellinger, Bodhi Kozel, Ava, Jackson, McKenzy and Ellie Newhouse; his nieces and nephews, Todd Dellinger, David Fortner, Deanna Hall (David) and Denise Fortner; and his close friend Rev. Enoch Ball.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Yancey Funeral Services (378 Charlie Brown Rd, Burnsville, NC 28714). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Higgins Methodist Church (101 N Main St, Burnsville, NC 28714).
