He was predeceased by: his parents, Waites Pitman and Minnie Penley Pitman; and his siblings, Jack Pitman (Nell), Ray Pitman, Glenn Pitman, Elma Pitman, Louise Penley (Orville) and Edna Burleson (Hobert).
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Silvers Pitman; his son Gaylon Pitman of Jacks Creek; his grandchildren, Anika Pitman (Dmitriy Antetskiy), Lexie Pitman and Dakota Pitman; and his sister Cathy Jones of Weaverville. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
