It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Winfield Scott Gardner (Burlington, North Carolina), who passed away on October 31, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. “WS, was my next-door friend and neighbor for 3 years at The Village at Brookwood. In early mornings on our ,adjoining patios, I often enjoyed his bright eyes and our friendly early morning history sharing greetings as he prepared to go to his favorite restaurant’s breakfast, or as we watched the duck families steal seed under his bird feeder. Even though I returned to Frederick in July, his fond memory remains. I wish the best for his family in celebrating his long, meaningful life. Bill Rowland”
