He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John William Gentry Sr. and Lillie Rogers Gentry; his wife Gladys Poteat Gentry; his daughters, Jacqueline Jeffries and Joan Ramsey; his grandsons, Nicholis Richmond, Laxton Ramsey, Justin Ramsey, Bralan Ramsey and Jorden Ramsey; his great grandchildren, Izayah Ramsey, Halan Ramsey, Karmala Ramsey, Zarrion Ramsey, Nyi'Heim Ramsey and Jaiana Adams; and his cousins, Craig Watlington and Vickie Mebane.
