He was predeceased by: his father Chalmer R. Clapp; his stepfather William "Bill" Barham; and his brothers, Randy and Jeff Clapp. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Snyder Clapp of Burlington, NC; his sons, Matthew, Benjamin (Christine) and Zachary (Caitlyn Cousin); his mother Betty C. Barham; his brother Timothy Clapp (Nancy); his stepsiblings, Kathy B. McConnell (Dan) and Billy Barham (Bonnie); and his pets, Cocoa, Oreo, Darla, Zuko and Shelby.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be given in Mike's honor to the ASPCA or Hope Church of Burlington.
