With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Martha Jane Fogleman Sharpe of Burlington, North Carolina, born in Alamance, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 17, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ernest G. Sharpe; her son Edmond G. Sharpe; her parents, Rev. James U. Fogleman and Joy Fogleman Sr.; her siblings, James U. Fogleman Jr., Herman A. Fogleman, Henry D. Fogleman, Jacob C. Fogleman, Mary C. Fogleman and Doris F. Hornaday; her nephew Jimmy Fogleman; and her niece Janet Palmer.
She is survived by: her daughter Lisa Cates; her granddaughters, Jordan Cates Caviness (Tyler Caviness) and Lauren Cates; her sisters, Virginia Ferrell, Betty Long, Rebecca Wyatt and Joyce Crawford; her grandchildren, Jacob Cates, Shelby Cates, Brooke Manuel and Lindsey Payne; and her great grandchildren, Karsyn and Emma. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to AuthoraCare Hospice of Alamance.
