She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Montgomery and Alene Christopher Montgomery; her children, Kathy Handy Jones and Steven Darryl Handy; and her siblings, Richard Montgomery, John "Jay" Montgomery and Doris Cobb.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Handy Wade (Ronnie), Richard Wayne Handy (Diane Bowes) and Shannon Dawn Handy Johnson (Shayne); the father of her children Ernest William Handy; her grandchildren, Amy, Melissa, Kimberly, Ritchie, Alston, Peyton, Brooklyn, Morgan and Clarissa; and her great grandchildren, Bellamy, Dalton, Sawyer, Kendal, Carter, Lawson, Kelsey, Travis, Bentley, Brantley, Daekwon, Nalani and Xzavier.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Carolina Christian Church (2364 State Hwy 49, Burlington, NC 27215).
