He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Russell Phillips and Pearl Coble Phillips; and his sister Paulette Phillips Pugh. He is survived by: his wife Judy Bowman Phillips; his daughters, Cathy Phillips Scott (Lester) and Joyce Phillips Allison (Keith); his grandchildren, Caroline McDowell (Miles), Jeff Barfield, Miranda Allison and John Russell Barfield (Sarah); his brother-in-law Bob Pugh; and his nephews, Philip Pugh (Donna) and Neal Pugh (Katherine).
