He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Lee and Carrie Etta Dickey Chambers; his grandson Seth Oakley; and his siblings, Lee, Lewis Chambers, Elizabeth Harris and Ethel Cash.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy T. Chambers; his daughters, Michelle Chambers of Burlington, Cheryl Harrell (Jerry) of Garner, Cindy Chambers of Burlington and April Rossi (Ken) of Falls Church, Virginia; and his siblings, Lillie Mae Zimmerman of Holly Ridge, Gladys Kay Albert of Roxboro and Thomas Chambers (Barbara) of Timberlake. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
