With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Cornell Purvis of Burlington, North Carolina, who passed away on November 1, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Norman Purvis; her parents, James Henry Cornell and Nellie Smith Cornell; her daughter Jennifer Beth Purvis Roth; and her siblings, Glenn Cornell, Ann Cornell Birchett and Kay Cornell Lee.
She is survived by: her daughters, Christina Lynn Purvis and Melissa Leigh Purvis; her grandchildren, Justin Jarrett, Janie Gordon, Sadie Gordon, Katie Gordon, Austin Roth and Johnathon Roth; her siblings, Lisa Cornell Harrison (Buster), Gail Cornell Jordan and Mike Cornell (Virginia); and her niece Hannah Harrison.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Rich and Thompson Chapel (207 E Elm St, Graham, NC 27253).
