He is survived by: his wife Nancy Thompson Long; his brother Benjamin Alan Long (Nancy) of Raleigh; his children, Leslie Long Phillips of Burlington, Julie Long Flournoy (Stephen) of Raleigh and Jerry Alexander Long Jr. (Beth) of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Phillips of Gibsonville, Lily Gray Flournoy of Raleigh and Ava Elizabeth Long of Fort Worth; and his great grandchild Riley Elizabeth Watson of Gibsonville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
