He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey E. Core, Sr. and Gertrude Nunnery Core of Burlington, N. C.; and his brother Lt. Harvey Core, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughter Tammie; his son-in-law David McFerrin; his son James Core, Jr. (Jay); his daughter-in-law Jessica; and his granddaughters, Brook Walters, Lindsey McFerrin, Kaley McFerrin, Whitney Montecalvo and Allison Griffin. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
