He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Dwight Sharpe and Mary Lewis Cross Sharpe; his brother Ronald Dean Sharpe (Bobby); and his half-brothers, Michael and David.
He is survived by: his wife Merle Sutton Sharpe of Burlington; his children, Todd Sharpe (Laura) of Arden, Tim Sharpe (Anita) of Raleigh, Stephanie Sharpe Hetzel (Paul) of Isle, Lesley Sharpe Dunaway of Greensboro and Cindy Sharpe of Burlington; his grandchildren, Emily Sharpe Harris (Cory) of Huntersville, Henry Sharpe (Christa) of Charlottesville, VA, Charlie Dunaway of Greensboro and Grace Dunaway of Chapel Hill; and his great grandchildren, Joshua Harris, Ethan Sharpe, Caroline and Hensley Harris.
