She was predeceased by: her parents, Thea Otis and Lillian Faulkner Carey; and her siblings, Lonnie Carey, Stanley Carey and Lala Rascoe.
She is survived by: her husband Obie Allen Newcomb; her children, April Knox (Michael), Ann Austin (Jim), Nathan Garrison, Jr. and David Garrison (Gladys); her grandchildren, James Clay Allen III (Rejina), Natalie Sepulveda, Nathan Otis Garrison (Danielle), Liz Garrison, Dena Kathleen Garrison, Victoria Garrison, Ashlea Robertson (Bud) and Nicole Westin; and her siblings, Neil Carey (Brenda), Fairley Carey (Brenda), Angela Pendergrass (Ronnie) and Jill Saunders (Don). She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Union Ridge Church (115 Altamahaw Union Ridge Rd, Burlington, NC 27217). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Union Ridge Church Cemetery (115 Altamahaw Union Ridge Rd, Burlington, NC 27217).
