He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Kernodle and Kathleen Kernodle. He is survived by: his siblings, Wally and Jean Gaither (W. T.); his niece Michelle Stewart (Tony) of High Point, NC; and his nephew Brian Gaither of Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Union Ridge Church and AuthoraCare Collective Hospice in Burlington.
