She was predeceased by: her spouse Charlie "Red" Edward Rainey; her parents, Robert Samuel Gilmore and Minnie Lee Waddell; and her siblings, Mildred Forrester, Mary Smith, Gurney R. Gilmore, J. Cecil Gilmore, Ben H. Gilmore, K. Aubrey Gilmore and N. M. Gilmore.
She is survived by: her children, Rebecca "Becky" Ann Rickman (Tom) and Charlie "Eddie" Edward Rainey, Jr. (Sharon); her grandchildren, Kendall Rainey, Rustan Stewart (Keith) and Lauren Leager (Travis); her stepgrandson Tommy Rickman, Jr. (Audra); her great grandchildren, Weston Leager, Ames Leager, Kellan Stewart and Sutton Stewart; and her sister Margaret Grant.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service (306 Glenwood Ave, Burlington, NC 27215). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM and at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, North Carolina 27215.
