He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernie Wellington and Margaret Blanton Gray; and his brother Mervin Gene Gray. He is survived by: his sisters, Carolyn Gray Hart (Bill) of Columbia, S. C. and Shirley Gray Vaught (Kenneth) of Burgaw, N. C.; and his nieces and nephews, Randall Eugene Jones (Jane), James Ernie Jones, Micheal Gene Carter (Lona), Sharon Michelle Evans (Sonny) of Burgaw, N. C. and Monica Gray Quasem (Mo) of Columbia, S. C.. He is also survived by 8 great nieces and 1 great nephew; 7 great -great nieces and 3 great-great nephews.
