Everett; his aunt Eleanor Stephens; his niece Evelyn Tatum; his wife Suzanne "Sue" Tatum; his daughter Jennifer Frields (Ryan); his grandchildren, Joe Frields (Rachel), Payton Frields and Faith Biros (Zack); his brother Michael Tatum (Darla); his aunt Sabra Nunalee; his nieces and nephews, Jordan Tatum, Travis Tatum (Heather), Kimberly Rivenbark Williams (Ronnie), Gabrielle Messeck (Josh) and Sarah Tatum; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Skyler Williams, Tatum Rae Smith, Leelend Tatum and Mason Tatum; and his cousin Tony Mergenthaler (Libby).

A funeral service was held on Friday, October 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Long Creek Baptist Church (5131 Malpass Corner Rd, Burgaw, NC 28425). A burial was held on Friday, October 11th 2024 at the same location.
