She was predeceased by: her parents, Randall Bain and Lucy Norris Bain; her husband John "Shug" Leonard; and her daughter Laura Smitley. She is survived by: her children, Deborah Sewell (Wesley), John E. Leonard (Julie), Joy Seale (Bill) and Elizabeth Lunsford (Harold); her siblings, Darlene Moore, Mary Watson (Robert), Frances Penny (Jesse), Jerry Bain (Rhodean), Johnny Bain and Willie Bain; and her pet Teddy. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Quinn McGowen Funeral Home (308 W Fremont St, Burgaw, NC 28425). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
