She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Culbreth and Willie Lee Wilkerson Culbreth; and her brothers, Horace William Newton and James Ollie Newton. She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Rhonda Hester (Neil) of Bullock, NC, Diane Ellington (David) of Oxford, NC, Denise Whitlow (Mike) of Roxboro, NC, Chad Newton (Mary) of Bullock, NC, Billy Newton (Lisa) of Bullock, NC and Michael Newton of Durham, NC; her sister-in-law Faye Newton of Highland Village, TX; and her close friend Deborah Phillips of Apex, NC..

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to Union Chapel Baptist Church at 4433 Shiney Rock Rd. Clarksville, VA 23927.
