She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Cadmus Hunter Coates and Mary Evelyn Hall Coates; and her husband Charles Lewis Snipes. She is survived by: her daughters, Lewanne Norris (Kenneth) of Greensboro and Larue Thompson (Marshal) of Buies Creek; her grandchildren, Erin Norris Raynor (Mark), Hunter Kendall Norris (Amber), Samuel Thompson and Matthew Thompson; her great grandchildren, Matthew Waddell, Ruby Raynor, Mason and Wyatt Raynor; her sister Sylvia Turlington Byrd; and her pet Satch.
