He is survived by: his wife Nora McDonald Blanchard; his children, Samuel Brantley Blanchard (Beth) of Buies Creek, Cathryn Bugg (Jay) of Austin, TX and Jill Eagan (Fred) of Fuquay; and his siblings, Dorothy Page of Lillington and Wayne Blanchard of Fuquay. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
