He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Brooks and Edith Brooks; his daughters, Donna Jo Wolfe and Beverly Denise Howard; and his siblings, Betty Fulford and Lanny Brooks.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Breedlove Brooks; and his children, Tonya Brooks Rochester and Phillip Brooks II (GiGi). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
