With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katharyn Martin Howell Monteith of Bryson City, North Carolina, born in Cherokee, North Carolina, who passed away on August 9, 2022 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Merritt Howell and Herman Martin Howell; her husband Claude Monteith; her grandson David "DJ" Montieth Jr.; and her brothers, Richard and Bill Howell of Murphy.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Greene of Taylorsville and David Montieth (Mary) of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Rachel Greene of Claremont, Sarah G. Shelton (Benjamin) of Charlotte and Morgan Montieth of Pennsylvania; and her great grandchildren, Jackson Lamb, Jacob Lamb, Andrew Lamb, Benjamin Shelton, Harrison Shelton, Elizabeth Shelton and Riley Montieth.
