He was predeceased by: his parents, Albia Gunter and Whitey Gunter. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Cochran Gunter; his daughter Jennifer; his son-in-law Adam Thomasson; his grandson Lane Thomasson (Little Man); and his brothers, Dewight (Paula), Junior (June), Frank (Angie) and Lance (Karen). He is also survived by extended family and many nieces, nephews and cousins, and his little dog.
