He is survived by: his children, Chris Messick of Thomasville, John Messick (Christy) of Thomasville, April Messick of Thomasville and Phyllis Prather of Sylva, NC; the mother of his children Margaret Messick; and his grandchildren, John Jr., Ozzy, Jason, Bella, Cahlie, Jasmine, Alex, Dakota, Chris Jr., Joe, Autumn, Chance, Dylan, Alyssa, Austin, Kristen and Ryan. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
