She was predeceased by: her children, Fred and Kathy; her grandson Michael; her parents, Hettie McDonald and Houston Hyde; her stepfather Wade McDonald; and her siblings, Jean Clark and Emmett Hyde.

She is survived by: her husband Ray Lackey; her children, Charles Ray (Joyce), Ann Woodard, Yvonne Swan and Sandra Lackey of Bryson City; and her son-in-law Jamie Waldroup. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
