She was predeceased by: her parent Robert Jenkins; her husband Solomon Matthew Brooks; and her siblings, Alta Downs and Garl Jenkins. She is survived by: her parent Dollie Parris Jenkins; her children, Helen Cookston (Carson) of Bryson City, Janice Brooks of Bryson City, Eddie Brooks of Bryson City, Iretha Hancock (Marvin) of Old Fort, Marcia Brooks of Sylva and Resa Brooks of Waynesville; her brothers, Willard Jenkins of Bryson City, Foya Jenkins of Michigan and Carroll Jenkins of Florida; her grandsons, Marcus Burrell, Travis Brooks, Tyler Brooks, Luke Hancock and Joshua Stephenson; her nephew Rick Downs; and her great grandchildren, Matthew Burrell, Corey Stillwell, Lane Brooks and Covey Cookston. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
