He is survived by: his wife Viola Willis Day; his son Sheldon Day; his daughter-in-law Taressa Day; his grandchildren, Shelli Taylor and Joseph Bird; his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Israel, Layla and Sampson; and his siblings, Don Day of Grover, Douglas Day of Robbinsville and Grace Gregory of Nantahala. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
