He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Simonds and Annie Simonds Arvil; his wife Gladys Welch Simonds; his brothers, Virgil Simonds, Jeff Simonds and Marvin Simonds; and his sons-in-law, Edwin Larry Simonds and Mark Price.
He is survived by: his siblings, Dillard (Karen), Betty, Shirley, Marilyn, Evenell and Laura; his children, Bobby (Frieda), Thomas (Darleen), Carl, Kathy and Cindy (Mark); his grandchildren, Larry (Amber), David (Cindy), Brandon (Aubrey), Brooklyn, Heather, Sherissa (Bracken), Kena (Billy), Tina (Rick), Jason, Brooke, Tori, Noland, Ethan (Sabrina), Kaddi, Karri, Kassi and Becky; and his great grandchildren, Katie, Hunter, Joslyn, Madison, Waylon, Billy, Jaden, Wrenley, Weston, Cyrus Bull, Raelynn, Emerlyn, Noah, James, Collin, Jennifer, Braxton, Lily, Caden, Paxton and Piper.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home (669 US-19, Bryson City, NC 28713). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
