He is survived by: his wife Annie Mae Ward Cartrette; his children, Johnny Vegas Cartrette (Tracy) of Monroe, NC and Teresa Ann Cartrette of Chadbourn; his grandchildren, Kristie Salmon, Tessa Cheek, Chelsey Cartrette and John Cole Cartrette; and his great grandchild Terran Cheek.
