She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Shepherd and Verdie Shepherd (Brooks); and her daughter Ellen Collins. She is survived by: her sons, Daniel Brann and David Brann; her grandchildren, Will, Lane, Megan Brann, Lindsey and Justin Collins; and her great grandchildren, Brea, Bane Brann, Tupoc, Junior Collins and Jacen Collins.

As it was Mabel's wish to donate her body to Duke School of Medicine, there will be a service held at a later date with details to come.
