He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Ray Pope and Dolly Byrd Pope; his former spouse Billie Jo Ann Pope; his sons, Jimmy Raymond Pope, Jr. and Billy Joe Pope; and his siblings, Treva P. Hudson, Geraldine P. Craven, Mary Lee Pope, Linda June P. Vittoe, Dollie Gayle P. Griffin, Faye P. Hedgecock, Jacqueline "Jackie" P. Robbins, Fred R. Pope, Jr., Ray D. Pope and Homer W. Pope.

He is survived by: his wife Frances King Pope; his stepchildren, LaBreeska C. Hunt (Tim) of Farmer and Joseph Casey Councilman (Kimberly) of Browns Summit; and his daughters-in-law, Bernadine Pope of High Point and Katherine Pope of Belews Creek. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchild and two great-great grandchildren.
