It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Haywood Roland Blackwell of Browns Summit, North Carolina, who passed away on November 6, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dwight Blackwell and Ethel Watlington Blackwell. He is survived by: his wife Cecelia "Tillie" Harrison Blackwell; his children, Todd Blackwell (Barbara), Terri Blackwell Yearwood (Roderick), Havis Blackwell and Erica Blackwell; his goddaughter Lois Taylor (Oradgneal II); his grandchildren, Marnecus Smith, Chelsie Blackwell, Ajia Yearwood, Todd Blackwell II, Chase Blackwell, Roderick Yearwood II, Z'riyah Brown and Oradgneal Taylor, III; his siblings, Cynthia Carter (Apostle James) and James Blackwell (Delores); and his siblings-in-law, Gloria Welborne, Susan Blackwell, Ernestine Harrison, Peggy Harrison and Thurman Harrison (JoAnn). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home (721 E Morehead St, Reidsville, NC 27320). Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Elm Grove Baptist Church (1302 US-29 BUS, Reidsville, NC 27320). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
