She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Mac Thomas and Louise Hunter Thomas; her husband Bobby Buchanan; and her sisters, Dot Anderson and Ruth Womack.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Johnson (John) of Sanford, NC and Mary Buchanan of Sanford, NC.; her brother Gary Thomas (Patricia) of Broadway, NC.; her grandchildren, Justin Johnson of Sanford, NC and Amanda Pope (Jacob) of Raleigh, NC.; her great grandchildren, Evan and Liam Johnson; and her cousin Yvonne Kelly (Donald Ray) of Summerville, SC..
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina, PO Box 338 Thomasville, NC 27360 for the IDD program.
