It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne Delois McDougald of Broadway, North Carolina, who passed away on July 14, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hicks and Lois Hicks; her husband William Edward McDougald; her daughter Jocelyn Olga McDougald; and her sister Joy Hicks Miller.
She is survived by: her daughter Bridget Hicks Boulware; her grandchildren, Halia Z. Boulware, A. J. Boulware and Jamari Barnes-McDougald; and her brothers, James Hicks of Boston, MA and Curtis Hicks (Marilyn) of Boston, MA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
