He was predeceased by: his parents, Carol Ray Brown and Charles Lee Byrd, Sr.; and his grandparents, Doreen Benham Ray, Thomas Landon Ray, Bertha Byrd Dennis and Wright Dennis.
He is survived by: his wife Gwen Clayton Byrd; his children, Heather Byrd Creasy (Carlton Creasy III) and Aaron Landon Byrd (Candace Capps); his stepchildren, Maggie Alexandra Brafford (John Paul Taylor) and Adam Clayton Brafford (Kaley Brafford); his stepfather Dwight Brown; his grandchildren, Bailey Ray Byrd, Carlton Ray Creasy IV, Paisley Hart Brafford and Adam James Brafford; and his siblings, Peggy Byrd Lynch, Charlene Byrd Harrington (Dale), James "Eddie" Byrd, Charles Lee "Chuck" Byrd, Jr. and Johnny Ray Byrd (Lori). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
