He is survived by: his children, Jan Badgett Smith (Brian) of Sanford, NC and Benjamin Badgett of Sanford, NC; his sister Judith Badgett Baker of Sanford, NC; and his grandchildren, Virginia Claire Smith, William O'Brien Smith and Mary Thomas Smith.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home (201 1st St, Broadway, NC 27505). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Shallow Well Church Cemetery (1220 Broadway Rd, Sanford, NC 27332). A reception was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Shallow Well Church (1220 Broadway Rd, Sanford, NC 27332).
