He was predeceased by: his parents, David Columbus Doby Sr. and Vivian Phillips Sloan; and his stepfather Bennie Sloan. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Doby; his stepchildren, Brittany L. Bohn (Jared) of Fayetteville, NC, Nicholas R. Solle (Stacy) of Sanford, NC and Ryan R. Solle (Natasha) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; his siblings, Rebecca Starr (Tony) of Broadway, NC, Cynthia Barker of Sanford, NC. and Benji Sloan of Cameron, NC; and his grandchildren, Ryan Solle Jr., Beau Solle, Harrison Solle, Brooks Solle, Parker Sue Solle, Gianna Solle and Lincoln Bohn.
