He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Cox and Rena McIver Cox; his daughter Sherry McCormick Lee; his siblings, Robert, James and Helen; and his close friends, Patricia Douglas, Josie McNeil and Bobby Griffin.
He is survived by: his daughter Adrienne Maria Douglas of Greenville; his siblings, Pastor Cathy Ray Broadway (Pastor Harrison), Peggy Cox of Cameron, NC, Williams Cox Woodbridge (Barbara), Gary Cox Goldston (Carolyn), Reginald Cox, Sr. (Dreama) and Hazel Cox Headen; his grandsons, Daryl D'Angelo Davis (Sherika) of Winterville, NC, T. J. Jackson (Lianna) of Fuquay Varina, NC and A. J. Jackson (Alexis) of Greensboro, NC; his great grandchildren, Mason Jackson and Caden Jackson; his sister-in-law Eva Cox; and his cousin Felton Swann. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Charles was a faithful supporter of his sister's church, Gods' Fellowship Christian Center with his presence and donations.
