He is survived by: his children, Bruce Messer of Broadway, Johnnie Messer of Broadway, Cathy Bowling of New York and Cindy Duke of Sanford; and his siblings, Wayne Messer of Lillington, Evelene Hudson of Lillington, Joyce Brantley of Lillington, Gail Williams of Lumber Bridge and Jean Dunn of Lillington. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; great-great granddaughter.
