He was predeceased by: his wife Lydie Norman Boyd. He is survived by: his children, Marvin D. Boyd Jr. of New Bern and Lois Boyd Cornwell (Gordon) of New Bern. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
