He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Greene and Flora Owen of Balsam Grove; his siblings, Reba Mccall and Sylvalia Owen; and his son Samuel Chase Harrison Owen.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Tilley Owen; his children, Jimmy Little River (Elaine), Emory Owen (Krista) of Brevard, Rita Thomas (Gary) of Mills River, Tonya Bond of Rosman and Jennifer Fitzgerald of Hendersonville; and his sister Otelia Napier of Portland Oregon. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
