He was predeceased by: his parents, Cicero Gillespie and Gertrude Gillespie; and his siblings, Kenneth, Virgil Gillespie and Doris Owen.
He is survived by: his wife Bobi; his sons, Joshua and Kevin Gillespie; his siblings, Roger Gillespie (Lucille) of Brevard and Joann Johnson of Jacksonville, FL.; his parents-in-law, Richard and Joan Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Rick Smith (Andrea), Patricia Cooper (Charlie) and Jo Sprouse (Eddie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
