He is survived by: his mother Frances Wright McConnell; his children, Richard McConnell (Jasmine) and Kimberly McConnell; and his siblings, Kevin McConnell (Trudy), Roger McConnell and Kimberly McConnell. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
