He was loved and cherished by many people including: his brother James Ernest Lawing; his wife Billie Sue West of Griffin, GA; his children, Erin Lawing (Asheville), Scott Lawing (Nancy), Kim Lawing (Brevard) and Susan Barnes (Steve); his grandchildren, Rachel Lawing of Jersey City, NJ and Alex Lawing (Charlotte); and his friend Eric Jonas (Darlene) of Charlotte.
