With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Linwood Butler of Brevard, North Carolina, who passed away on February 28, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Linwood Butler and Florence Butler; his former wife Barbara Ann Dinsmore Butler; his children, Paulette Gary, Douglas Butler, Richard Butler and Thomas Butler; and his sisters, Mary Randolf and Barbara Millard.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Eleanor Kahler Butler; his son Gregory Butler (Christine); his stepsons, Timothy Thew and Jeffrey Thew (Florence); his son-in-law Ronald Gary; his grandchildren, Pamela Maldonado (Luis), Angela Harley (David), Gabrielle Butler (Timothy), Wyatt Butler (Evanie), Alana Butler, Odin Butler, Vincent Thew, Victor Thew, Zachary Thew, Veronica Thew, Samuel Thew, Garrett Thew, Trace Thew, Taylor Thew, Sharleen Wittnebel (Robbie) and Joe Gear; and his siblings-in-law, Martha Guice, Beverly Kopf (Jim), Jacalyn Hoffman, Donald Dinsmore, Bill Kahler (Bobbie) and Michael Kahler (Deborah). He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
